Tao Liu graduated from a professional food & beverage school in Chengdu, Sichuan, China, and got his senior chef licence in 1998, when he was only 25. After graduating, he immediately started working in hotels in Beijing and Sichuan, learning traditional Sichuan techniques from the masters and became a senior chef. After more than a decade of professional training, he brings to Little Tao an authentic Sichuan cuisine that everyone will fall in love with. Located on the outer edge of Chinatown and adjacent to the popular Boston Commons, The Q is a modern Asian fusion dining destination known for its multicultural mix of culinary offerings and sleek yet homely ambiance. Since first opening in 2006 as “Little Q Hotpot” in Quincy, MA, it has built a reputation for combining traditional flavors with contemporary culinary techniques, offering a refined yet familiar dining experience to new and returning diners alike. The restaurant specializes in Mongolian hot pot, sushi, and a range of pan-Asian dishes that combine the best of Chinese, Japanese, and Thai cuisines. The hot pot experience, in which diners cook their own preferred ingredients in a bubbling, flavorful broth tableside, makes for an interactive and individualized experience. Solely from its 15 broths—each available with a half-and-half option—and around 200 a la carte options, customers are offered a world where no meal can disappoint. After all, you can cater it however you wish! Add in the starter options that include cold appetizers and hot tapas, the small entrées that include nori hand rolls and maki, and the main specialty dishes cooked to perfection by the restaurant’s adept culinary staff, it is truly impossible not to find something to adore. The Q’s stylish interior, complete with soft lighting, modern décor, and a lively open kitchen, creates a welcoming atmosphere for both casual outings and special occasions. Thanks to its prime location near tourist hotspots like Newbury Street and the Prudential Center, The Q is often hounded by hungry travelers looking for an upscale yet memorable dining experience. However, it is far from neglecting its locals. To restaurant owner Billy, it is the families who return every Thanksgiving or Christmas for annual gatherings that inspire him and his staff to continue serving love and compassion. So, whether you’re seeking a cozy dinner for two or a festive group gathering, the Q Restaurant offers an upscale yet comfortable setting where bold flavors and communal dining come together seamlessly.
